Hi everyone! I’m Steven Suresh, President of the King’s College London Students’ Union (KCLSU). As the academic year gets underway, I’d like to introduce you to the vibrant world of KCLSU and show you how you can become a part of it.

Established in 1873, King’s College London Students’ Union, or KCLSU as its commonly known, stands proud as the oldest students’ union in the UK! Every student at King’s automatically becomes a member of KCLSU. With nearly 500 Student Activity Groups and 80 Sports Clubs on offer, there’s truly something for everyone. Whether you're passionate about Formula 1 or you’re an aspiring Hedge Fund manager with an interest in Muay Thai at the weekends, we have something that'll pique your interest. If by chance, you don't find a society that aligns with your passion, we'll support you in setting one up. In fact, I co-founded the Formula 1 Society just last year. Discover all our societies here!

Beyond the buzz of society events, KCLSU is the powerful voice of our student community. Elected officers such as the 5 Vice-Presidents and I represent your individual voices to ensure that robust representation to the best of our abilities. We are an independent organisation to the university, which means that student welfare and belonging is our greatest priority.

For those in need, KCLSU offers free, confidential and impartial advice on a myriad of issues, be they academic or personal, ranging from Mitigating Circumstances and Academic Appeals to Housing, Finance and general well-being. Learn more about the support we offer.

If you're ever in need of a break, why not unwind with friends? Experience the atmosphere at Guy’s Bar and The Vault with a pint or pop into The Shack or The Shed for a caffeine boost before your lectures.

Mark your calendars for the Welcome Fair on 21st and 22nd September. It’s the perfect platform to discover our societies and connect with peers who share your interests. KCLSU has been the starting point for many lasting friendships during my time at university. I encourage you to immerse yourself in as many events and activities as possible. Rest assured, our spaces are designed to be safe, inclusive and welcoming to all. If you ever see me around campus, don’t be shy; come over for a chat. Here’s to a year filled with new adventures, friendships and personal growth!
