Your Representative

Hi everyone! I'm Baiyu, an undergrad Computer Science student – I started at King's back in 2021. I chose KCL because of its amazing heritage, its prestige, and, of course, its unbeatable location right in the heart of London.

 

A little about me: I was born in Beijing and moved to the UK when I was six. I love going to the gym, making video games, and diving into sartorial history (I may or may not own over 100 ties…). I'm really passionate about making a difference and finding ways we can all leave our dents on the universe.

 

I became President because I wanted to give something back to King's and to help make student life even better. Having been an Academic Rep, I've heard a lot from students about what really matters, and that's shaped my priorities this year: more study spaces, digital graduation certificates and graduate employment, better food choices on campus, and making sure our education improves based on feedback through more student representation.

 

For me, it's all about making your time at King's the best it can be – not just while you're here, but even after you graduate.

Culturally inclusive facilities and services, such as warm water stations and diverse menus across campuses.

December 2025: Hot Water Locations

As part of my goal to make our facilities more culturally inclusive, I’m pleased to share where students can access free hot water across King's campuses.

Giving students the choice between hot and cold water, according to their personal or cultural preferences, helps create more inclusive facilities. Whether you’re brewing tea or cooking ramen, I hope you find this helpful!

Be sure to bring your own cup - disposable ones come with a small charge.

September 2025: Digital Graduation Certificates

I worked with King’s Examinations and Assessment team and KCL’s Chinese Students' and Scholars’ Association to launch a project that would enable students to generate a digital version of their degree certificate through Gradintelligence (Gradintel), the official document issuing service used to provide students with certification of their results and achievements.
