The Political Theory Association is a King’s College London student led-initiative committed to investigating the interplay between political theory and empirical reality.
The underlying purpose of this Association is to provide motivated individuals with a platform to engage in the world of political theory and the history of political thought. Our essence lies in promoting substantive engagement in the field of applied political theory, to the end of equipping the leaders of tomorrow with the ability to understand, and act upon the normative extension of any real-world situation.
What distinguishes us from other King’s societies is the importance and focus that we place on theory as an explanatory variable of real world phenomena. We view empirical reality, and particularly the crises of modern civilisations, as a by-product of present policies lacking the proper theoretical underpinning.
