In collaboration with the KCLSU LGBT+ Network, we will be hosting events educating the community as well as celebrating and sharing trans stories and experiences.

What is Trans Awareness Festival?

Trans Awareness Festival is now a two-weeks festival when transgender people and their allies take action to bring attention to the community by:

  • educating the public about who transgender people are
  • sharing stories and experiences
  • advancing advocacy around the issues of prejudice, discrimination, and violence that affect the transgender community.

We will honour and celebrate the trans community at King's and beyond in collaboration with the KCLSU LGBT+ Network. Get involved by attending one of our events and sharing trans stories.  This year's theme will be 'Our Trans Tomorrow'. Transness is a force leading us into a hopeful future and we want to use these weeks to champion our trans community at King's and their futures. Scroll down for more info!

This year we have the honour to collaborate with the KCLSU LGBT+ Network and they have prepared loads of initiatives and events to highlight and empower the trans community of King’s.

Last year, we spoke to trans students at KCLSU about their experiences.
