Hello! We are Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Women's Football Club.
Whether you’ve spent the last 10 years playing football for your county or you’ve never kicked a ball in your life, our club is for you!
We welcome students from ALL COURSES and all campuses and with our THREE competitive teams - each with weekly training, weekly socials, and twice weekly matches. We also have the new formation of our recreational team this year . We truly cater to all abilities !
ABOUT OUR TEAMS :
The 1st team are experienced players, consistently performing well in leagues and other tournaments. Previous titles they have achieved include United Hospitals Cup , LUSL Premier Division 19/20 and reigning varsity champions.
The 3rd team has made great strides since being formed in 2019 and are holding their own against higher ranked teams. They are a fantastic platform to try something new even if you have little football experience.
The competitive 2nd team bridge the gap between beginners and King’s hottest talent who achieved league promotion last season. They have also had several players developing their game and earning a spot in the 1s.
The additional of our recreational team is a great opportunity to play football if you have never played or are looking to play more socially! There’s a team for absolutely everyone!
Aside from playing football, the club puts on lots of other activities such as :
- Club Strength and Conditioning sessions (sometimes swapped for Yoga or Zumba!)
- Weekly Wednesday Socials : Where we grace Guy’s bar with our amazing themes!
- Wellbeing socials - board games , movie nights , mindfulness sessions!
- Annual Christmas dinner
- Watching Football – In October , we took a trip to Wembley to see the lionesses beat USA 2-1!
- Two Tours : Fresher Tour and National Association of medics tournament (NAMS)
- Charity initiatives - Previous events include the 3 peaks challenge , food bank donation drives, 10-hour football - a - thon and the new balance big relay! Our charity work has seen us win the MSA initiative of the year , two years running!
So, if you are looking for a fun, new way of keeping fit and to meet great people, GKTWFC is definitely the place to be. Did we mention we won the MSA award for sports club of the year 2021/22 ?!
