KCL Squash Club is a sports club that caters to all squash lovers! Whether you are a beginner looking to try out a new sport, a social player or someone looking to play competitive squash, our club is the perfect place! Here the focus is on making sure that every member is part of a great club, which makes for a great university experience. Our home courts can be found at the Southbank Club, 124-130 Wandsworth Rd, London SW8 2LD.
Competitive Squash
In the 24/25 season, we now have 4 competitive teams, all of which will compete and train a minimum of twice a week with our professionally trained coaches.
We now have three men's team and one women's team, which will all be competing in the London University Sports League(LUSL) . On top of this, there will be British Universities and College Sport(BUCS) matches for the mens 1, 2 and women's 1. Each team will compete in:
- Men's 1 - BUCS and LUSL
- Men's 2 - BUCS and LUSL
- Men's 3 - LUSL
- Women's 1 - BUCS and LUSL
As previously mentioned we have training sessions for all team members twice a week, one of which is run by former England international at U-23 level who has over 15 years of coaching experience. These run on Tuesdays and Thursdays 6-8 pm at the Southbank Club. We always do fitness sessions/recreational sessions on Saturdays!
Recreational Squash
We have recreational squash options for all ranges of players, from beginners to advanced. We run these sessions twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Here we will have a leading member of the committee come and welcome everyone who wants to join in, and also to organise fun and interesting challenges for the players. On Wednesdays we also have our BUCs games, so everyone is welcome to watch and support the teams before taking part in the recreationals!
Wednesday: Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced matchplays and challenges.
Saturday: Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced matchplays and challenges.
Recreationals are a great way to get to know the squash committee and meet other people interested in taking part.
Socials
At our squash club, the fun extends far beyond the court with our bi-weekly socials! Swap the squash racquet for exciting activities like bowling, go-karting, karaoke nights, and pub quizzes.
