KCL Rugby (Men's)

Sorry, there are no memberships available to purchase.

Welcome to King’s College London Men's Rugby Club or better known as KCLRFC! We are the official Men's Rugby Club of KCL, originally founded in 1869 we are one of the oldest and finest clubs in the world. We are rich with tradition supported by a long and illustrious history. The club is open to anyone and everyone regardless of prior rugby experience and course they are studying.

Currently, the club has three squads which compete within the BUCS league (games are played on Wednesday). The 1st XV being our most competitive squad and the player making up the squad being afforded the luxury of playing the London Varsity against UCL in and also the Macadam Cup against our medic counterpart GKT. Additionally, we have our strong 2nd XV squad which also have their own variation of the aforementioned games and finally our 3rd XV which is a more social team, they play on Wednesdays too but players may be afforded the chance of developmental Saturday matches. Each squad also takes part in an additional Cup which also takes place over the season.

As well, the club offers many social events throughout the year. The most typical form of social event you will attend if a member of the club are our post match socials organised by our committee’s social secs, the club also arranges two dinners throughout the year (winter and summer) to celebrate current members of the club and our achievements throughout the rugby calendar. We also a have a yearly club tour where majority of the club members take a few days abroad to relax after the season. A very important event is Rob Tagg which brings together present and past members of the club in remembrance of one our own who tragically lost his life playing this beautiful game we all love.

The club is also involved much within the world charity. The club yearly takes part in Movember with many boys growing a moustache in support of the great charity while also raising money all in the name of the club and mens mental health. In addition to this, we are also in support of the Oddballs foundation. We are always looking for charities to support through the club and the game of rugby.

We have ties with two additional clubs based in London, King’s College Hospital Rugby Club (KCH) and Hammersmith and Fulham Rugby Club. These two clubs allow boys the chance if they wish to train and play more outside our allocated times and also may be possible clubs to join after finishing university rugby and staying in London, with KCH being a prime example of housing many boys who have already played for the club.

Key information:
- Training takes every Monday and Friday at Berrylands.
- Games are played by every team on Wednesdays.
- Social members can take part in all aspects of the club except for playing games.
