Overview

Following the success of the Book Event with Shon Faye for Trans Awareness Week 2021, this LGBT+ History Month the LGBT+ Network is organising TWO author events. For the second event, we return to a more classic format of our LGBT+ Book Club to discuss a queer novel. "Rainbow Milk" follows nineteen-year-old Jesse McCarthy as he grapples with his racial and sexual identities against the backdrop of his Jehovah's Witness upbringing. During the event, we will hear the author, Paul Mendez, read from his book, we will discuss the semi-autobiographical novel with him based on some discussion prompts, and we will open the floor to audience questions.

External attendees are welcome to attend this event! We are asking that all external/non KCL attendees donate a minimum of £2 to our fundraiser for AKT, supporting homeless LGBT+ youth. You can find the link to donate here. We will check to confirm donation upon entry. Many thanks for your support!
