Where can I find the results?

  • You will be able to view the results on the KCLSU Elections webpage once they are released on Thursday 12 March 2026.

I have been elected, when does my new role start?

  • If you have been elected to a student group position, your new committee begins on 1 August 2026. Mandatory community leaders training will take place before this date to ensure you're fully equipped to thrive in your new role!
  • If you have been elected as a Full-Time Officer or Student Trustee, your new role begins on 1 July 2026; incoming Full-Time Officers must attend mandatory Officer training over July and August 2026.

I nominated myself for a role as the sole candidate, but I didn’t get the role. How is this possible?

  • Candidates need one vote to be elected to their nominated position. If you received 0 votes, you won't have been elected.

How do I get in touch with elected students?

  • You can find the election results on the Elections webpage and under the candidate resources dropdown from 12 March.
  • The President and Treasurer of student groups will be able to find elected students in the MSL membership list once they begin their roles on 1 August.

Can I have the email addresses of the new committee?

  • Unfortunately we cannot send email addresses or contact details of students, but the President and Treasurer of student groups will be able to find them in the MSL membership list once they begin their roles.

Can I delay the release of the results or announce them early?

  • Results will be announced on Thursday 12 March. This is also when results will be available to student groups themselves. Therefore it is not possible to receive or announce results at a different time to other groups.

What comes next? Is there a handover period for student groups?

  • You’ll begin your role on 1 August. Soon after election you'll be invited to join Community Leaders Training (mandatory for some roles such as President and Treasurer).
  • Regarding committee handovers, KCLSU has no formal handover process; this falls to the current committee themselves.

What is expected of me as a community leader?

  • Your role will depend on the position you’re applying for. Be sure to check the role description to best understand your role or get in touch with the current committee! The most important things are to attend any mandatory community leaders training, and to dedicate time and effort to your position.

I have been elected but no longer want my role. How do I withdraw from my position?
