Prior training required

Volunteers don't need any special prior training or experience as we will provide full training but you will need lots of enthusiasm and energy, as well as good communication and team-working abilities. Your role is to support your athlete in accessing the fun and games on offer at the session and adapting the activity to meet their needs, to encourage your athlete and give them lots of praise, to get moving (and show them that taking part is just as much fun as winning) and have fun!

Training available

We offer a full induction training session covering all of the information you need to know to be a Coach. This includes safeguarding, health and safety, disability awareness and communication. We also offer a range of additional education sessions, including Autism awareness, behaviour management and session leading. After completing training we ask that volunteers attend at least once a month and at least 5 sessions.
