Welcome to King's College London Mountaineering Club (or KCLMC for short!). Join one of the fastest growing and most thrilling sport societies at King's. If you are new to climbing and mountaineering, give us a try, over the first few weeks of freshers our committee will teach you the basics. Join us for bi-weekly indoor climbing sessions, trips to get away from the hustle and bustle of London, and excellent socials. Make sure you join our mailing list to recieve information on teaching sessions, socials, trips, and more!
We run a number of introductory sessions throughout the year so you can become a confident and independent climber: teaching you the ropes on Wednesday afternoon at Westway Climbing Centre, and how to boulder on Friday evenings at the Vauxwall, working on technique and strength. Our teaching sessions sell out quickly, so make sure you join our mailing list now, so can sign up to them!
If you are already a competent climber and can confidently belay, you do not need to book a taster session and can turn up to any of our sessions to meet the club and find yourself a belayer or spotter. We will stretch your skills, going lead climbing at Westway on Wednesday afternoons and we will help to improve your bouldering on Friday evenings. If you'd like to try your hand at competing, you can also join our competition team and compete nationally against all other universities in BUCS and LUBE (London University Bouldering Event - which we run!). Make sure you join our mailing list and facebook group so you can meet fellow climbers, know when and where our club meets, join socials and more!
When we’ve helped you master the basics, and you have officially become part of the KCLMC family (by paying membership below), you receive many benefits:
Don't miss out, become part of our great adventures and memories. If you have any questions, we would love to hear from you!
