Overview

An opportunity to highlight the under-representation of womxn in the field of physics. Through a day of talks, workshops and a panel. alongside the opportunity to network.
We aim to inspire, empower, and encourage womxn physicists; we hope to showcase their achievements and create a sense of community between physicists. Through this conference, we aim to create a safe space where people are able to share experiences, express opinions and receive support and encouragement from like-minded peers without being undermined, undervalued or invalidated. We are striving to act as a catalyst for change within the field, by actively engaging all staff members to implement policies to improve gender equality.
As well as supporting underrepresented physicists, WiP London aims to provide them with opportunities to develop their educational and professional futures. By celebrating exciting and diverse careers, we show young physicists the plethora of options available
to them. The conference then gives them a chance to network with some of the greatest womxn physicists in the UK; allowing them to build connections and gain invaluable advice.
This conference is an opportunity for the student community to get together and raise awareness of prevalent issues and talk about ways to combat them. Starting conversations is the only way we can learn more and tackle these important issues, to ensure a fairer and equal society for all future generations.
