Overview

On behalf of King’s College London Lawn Tennis Club and King’s College London Dance Society, we would like to invite you to an interactive International Women’s History Month networking and panel event on Monday 25th March 2024 at the iconic Bush House auditorium; the former home of BBC World Services.

The event’s focus is to bring together trailblazing female figures and male allies from the worlds of tennis and dance to shed light on their journeys, provide invaluable insight on inclusive leadership and inspire students, academics, and VIPs alike.

Schedule:
7-8:15pm: Arrival, networking drinks, and buffet provided by King’s College London’s award-winning
catering team in Bush House Arcade.
8:30-9:30 pm: An interactive panel session and Q&A hosted by KCL Tennis and Dance Presidents,
Jonathon Dawes BCyA and Emily Bull in Bush House Auditorium.
9:30 - 11pm: After event social in the Vault.

Panel makeup:
1. Samantha Smith, a former professional tennis player and British number 1 with a career-high
ranking of 55 in the world. She is currently an internationally acclaimed tennis commentator
covering Wimbledon and the Australian Open.

2. Ingrid Löfdahl Bentzer, a former professional tennis player, Swedish number 1, ranked within
the world top 15 and was a founding member of Women's Tennis Association (WTA) alongside
Billie Jean King. Upon retiring from professional tennis, Ingrid has served as the ITF Head of
Women's Tennis, Head of European Press for ATP, and CEO of the Women’s Squash
Association.

3. Juliet Diener UKCP, RADMP UK, MA, HDE, Founder and CEO of icandance is a Dance
Movement Psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, Inclusive dance specialist, ballet teacher,
disability inclusion specialist and educator. Juliet is a registered member of the Association for
Dance Movement Psychotherapy UK (ADMP UK) and of the UK Council for
Psychotherapy (UKCP). She has lectured on the MA in Dance Movement Psychotherapy at
Goldsmiths and is an Inclusive Dance Specialist for the Imperial Society of Teachers of
Dancing.


4. Dollie Henry MBE, theatre performer, choreographer, theatre director, jazz artist and
practitioner. is recognised as one of the most formidable exponents of artistic and creative jazz
dance and theatre dance, globally. She is Founder/Co-Artistic Director of BOP Jazz Theatre
Company and was recognised on the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Birthday Honours List
receiving the award of ‘MBE’ for ‘Services to Dance’.


5. Josie Lee, choreographer, teacher, competition judge, MOVE IT headliner and Can You
Dance recognized tutor, has credits including Carmen UK Tour and The Jungle Book UK
Tour- performing professionally in the industry for ten years. In a recent worldwide
choreographic competition hosted by American artist Blake McGrath, Josie was the runner up.

Ticket prices:
1. £10 for KCL students and staff
2. £15 for partners organisations
3. £20 for external guests
This ticket price is inclusive of the buffet, panel session and entry into the after event social in the Vault.


Charity:
All proceeds will be going to our charity partners for this event, Dan Maskell Tennis Trust and I Can
Dance.


Accessibility:
Bush House is fully wheelchair accessible and the panel session will be covered by a BSL interpreter to
ensure our event is as inclusive as possible.
