Candidate for the position of NUS National Conference Delegate

Rishik PILLA

Making your voices heard; CREATING A MORE SUSTAINABLE, POSITIVE FUTURE FOR US ALL!

To be a representative for our student voice and population is a great honour and privilege, as you are able to help formulate changes that can have a positive impact on our future as students. So often, we find that the most prominent aspects of our life affecting us as students are governed by external bodies/institutions. However, we may feel that these elements can be enhanced with greater student input. My name is Rishik, and this is the overarching reason why I would like to stand to be a NUS National Conference Delegate.

Having been a school councillor for over 5 years, I prioritised the prevalent issues raised by fellow students, and we were successful in implementing several key changes and policies for the greater welfare of students. Moreover, I continued this role as a Young Cabinet member in my local Youth Council, in which we successfully propelled joint campaigns in collaboration with other schools and external organisations to create sustainable projects in our borough.

As a student, I believe having a voice and feeling heard is so critical. This is why I acknowledge the significance of this position. If I am entrusted with this responsibility, I will surely strive to do my best to try to reflect the general consensus and outlook from our widest student body on the most pertinent topics. I will always remain fair, impartial and committed to my role. I would be very grateful if you place your vote for me and I hope we can cultivate a brighter future together. Thank You!
