Alavi: Your Voice, Your Trustee

Dear Fellow students,

I am campaigning to be YOUR voice of action!

As a sociable person involved in many societies, I have witnessed the lack of communication and involvement between my peers and OUR student’s union.

The SU is for US students and I wish to bridge the gap between us and our student body to maximise KCLSU’s potential and make our University experience much better.

I pledge to ensure that KCLSU’s decision making is fair for all of us.

Here are my principles as a future trustee:

TRUST

Becoming your voice of action is a great responsibility and I wish to establish a candid rapport with my peers where they can trust me to relay their thoughts to the SU.

In the past, I had great success as a wellbeing ambassador where I was trusted with confidential student matters. I hope this reassures you that I have your best interest in mind.

ACCOUNTABILITY

It is easy to make all these promises and then not uphold them.

But, I hope I can convey that as a trustworthy trustee, I will be scrutinising myself and KCLSU over any decisions and use my power to push for more transparency, where students can actively oversee any KCLSU operations and have a say to hold KCLSU accountable.

INITIATIVE

To make a change, it is essential to take initiative. Through discussions with peers, I will ensure to promote relevant and innovative ideas to the KCLSU board of directors.

As mentioned previously, I intend to increase transparency by making sure my fellow students are included and have access to any discussions with the KCLSU that involves their future. Besides, as someone who values student societies and their role in our wellbeing, I will fight for further funding for our student groups.
