A Tiktok insider here to give representation to all black people through the power of social media. All Caribbean countries WILL BE SHOWN. All types of African countries WILL BE SHOWN. Putting the A (not only Nigeria) and C back in ACS.

Greetings all. My name is Aj and I’m standing for the role of your ACS Publicity Officer. I am certain in my ability to help completely revamp the ACS social media platforms, through strategic marketing and visuals of henjoyment. I’ll be making it a priority to keep all of our members aware of events that will be taking place throughout each term and keeping you updated about everything that’s going on through all our social media outlets. You are going to be kept in the loop. By force. Polite force that is. No one will miss out on events they would have liked to go to, as I will work with the Head of Publicity to keep you informed.

Most importantly, what I really want to achieve as the Publicity Officer, is to demonstrate, through social media, who the best ACS out of UOL and even the midlands is. KCL ACS will get its crown back from our not so worthy competitors. My plan is to utilise our TikTok platform in particular, to show why our ACS is better than others, as I feel we may have slightly lacked in doing that so far. I plan to use my editing skills and extensive knowledge of Tiktok trends and viral potential to present our ACS on this platform.

I will  post recaps of our ACS events, however this is not what will provide the engagement. Through Tiktok, I’ve decided to make it my mission to put the A and the C back in ACS, as it has been made apparent that not all black students feel represented at ACS events, hence the lack of attendance on some occasions. I plan to showcase more sides of Africa than just Nigeria alone (Togo, Congo, Ghana, Uganda, Cameroon and more – you get the gist). I also plan to show more of Jamaica and other Caribbean countries like Grenada, Guyana, Dominican Republic and more. I want everyone to feel included and if you feel like your culture isn’t being shown, you can message me and I willl make sure to find ways to include it.

Through doing viral trends such as the latest black cultural dances and dances in general, and with good camera workmanship (which I possess), I believe we can bring ACS to the next level. To mention a few examples of this just for you to get a taste: Kompa, amapiano  dance battles and other trending dances and skits. I also plan to do  quiz style videos at each event and also around campus, doing fun mini interviews with the ACS community.

If you like some of my ideas please vote for me to see some serious change. If you have any questions you can message me on ig @ajjolaa  or approach me in real life. I'm nice so do not be shy :)
