Having been one of the Freshers Publicity Reps, I’ve had firsthand experience of all the behind scene work that goes into making content for our social media: from the Instagram stories and posts, and the TikToks, to the promotional content for all the events we host.

My job will be elevating the standard of this content and showing everyone why we’re the best ACS in UoL. I love editing and design, skills I believe are essential for any member of the publicity team to possess. I believe I’m easy to get on and work with, ensuring that my team, the committee and the whole ACS community is a fun, stress-free environment.

I’m very ambitious and I have big plans for our ACS.

Firstly, I will ensure that we only release top-tier photos and video content. I know how it feels to wake up and see yourself looking crazy on an ACS post so I vow to make sure no one is ever caught slipping at a motive again.

Obviously, we will continue to use our social media to promote events and opportunities (well ahead of time so you’ll never have to miss out on anything ACS related). Additionally, being an activist, I believe it’s essential to use our platform to educate and spread awareness. I plan to create a calendar for all the African and Caribbean independence days AND liaise with the politics officer so we can further inform people on relevant societal issues and current affairs and how we can support them.

In conclusion, I want to facilitate in making the ACS experience welcoming and enjoyable for both current and future members, so VOTE BECKY AS YOUR HEAD OF PUBLICITY!
