Candidate for the position of Afghan Welfare Society - Charity Lead

JASMIN JUMAA

'Faithful believers are to each other as the bricks of a wall, supporting and reinforcing each other'- Prophet Muhammad (SAWAS)

Salam!

My name is Jasmin and I am running to be the Afghan Welfare Society Charity Lead.

I have experience in managing fundraising projects where I've put together teams to organise events and activities at KCL and within my local community. Together, we organised charity workshops, sales, auctions, dinners and cultural events. My current project is an inter-uni fundraiser iftar, working with society committees across a number of universities and liaising with businesses to host an iftar event this Ramadan with stalls and a charity auction to raise funds for communities affected by the recent earthquakes. Through these experiences, I've learnt a lot from other volunteers with great ideas I can apply to future fundraisers. I've become confident in planning and executing these projects and in leading a team. I'm running for this role because I love bringing people together, especially if it's for a good cause! I'm up to date with the AWS, I love the community and can't wait to get involved!
