We host inclusive rehearsals and workshops on comedy technique and performance each week at the Strand Campus for our members. These workshops offer a safe space for members of the King’s community to have fun and hone a wide variety of comedic skills, from writing sketches to performing stand-up.
Running-a-Mock utilises London’s many opportunities for comedy enthusiasts, organising society outings and bringing comedy professionals to campus. Our biweekly performances on Strand Campus showcase the talent of Running-a-Mock members as well as that of professional comedians. These shows are free and open to all members of the King’s community, as watching and performing comedy to an audience is an essential component of becoming a competent comedian. They also rely heavily on audience participation, provide insight into the vibrant theatrical community at King’s, and are a great night out!
We also feature one of the UK's best and most decorated student improv troupes. The troupe roughly consists of 10 members and performs both on and off-campus. Recently, the Running-a-Mock troupe performed a sold-out show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2019. Auditions at the beginning of each term.
Running-a-Mock is committed to adapting to the new challenges posed by the Coronovirus pandemic and continuing to offer our members first-rate access to comedy performance and instruction. We will be moving our events and workshops online during the Autumn term. More information about these events will follow.
