Details

The Community & Campaigns Assistant will work within the Community Engagement department to assist on a range of administrative tasks, including monitoring the team’s inboxes and responding to enquiries, and ensuring information is up-to-date on the KCLSU website. They will also assist the Community & Campaigns Organiser on key projects they are currently working on. The post holder will support the delivery of the Union Agenda, officer- and student-led campaigns, and initiatives such as Liberation History Month events, Low-Participation group events, Forums, Academic Association and Network meetings.

The postholder will:

  • Monitor the relevant department inboxes and respond to enquiries in a polite, timely and professional manner or forwarding to relevant staff member
  • Assist with general administrative and communication tasks to support KCLSU community leads and staff Provide support for projects running across the community engagement department as needed
  • Provide calendar, email and general administration support for the Student Voice team
  • Assist in the development of campaigns by ensuring accurate data is captured in our system (MSL)
  • Assist on the delivery of the KCLSU student voice activities, such as Academic Association Termly Meetings, Members’ Meetings, Services Forums, student campaign meetings
  • Assist on administrative tasks relating to Representatives such as inputting, collating and maintaining accurate records
  • Assist on administrative tasks for research facilitation management, such as transcription and minute taking
  • Provide administrative and any other relevant support to assist with the delivery of with projects undertaken by members of the community representation team including but not limited to data monitoring, support with event organising, updating website pages and other relevant administrative tasks
  • Assist with ad-hoc research and analysis

A successful candidate will:

Knowledge

  • Ability to use the internet and Microsoft Office; particularly Excel, Powerpoint, Word and Outlook Ability to use Canva Good standard of English (both written and verbal)
  • Basic understanding of representation at KCLSU (desirable)

Experience

  • Experience of working with people via email, telephone and face to face.
  • Experience of administrative work (desirable)
  • Experience working as part of a busy team

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this role you must:

  • Be a current undergraduate or postgraduate student of King's College London.
  • Be eligible to work in the UK, and provide proof of this (i.e. a passport/visa) when asked by KCLSU.
  • Have a National Insurance number, or be in the process of applying for one.
  • Not be a trustee of King’s College London Students’ Union. Trustees should not apply for a role whilst in their term of office, or should their application be accepted or progressed to the interview stage.
  • Ex-Trustees can apply for student staff (non-administrative) roles, as soon as they finish their tenure.
  • Ex-Trustees can apply for career staff / permanent staff roles, only after a year has passed of them being a trustee. Applications submitted within the year should not be accepted or progressed to the interview stage.
