President

As President, your main focus will be improving the student experience and representing the views of your peers to the University. You will ensure that students are at the heart of everything the University does as you are a member of the King’s College London’s Council, as well as a number of other committees.

You will be Chair of the KCLSU Trustee Board, providing leadership for KCLSU and for the Board, whilst also being responsible for performance managing the KCLSU Chief Executive. You will also attend the National Union of Students’ National Conference as KCLSU’s lead delegate.

As President you will work very closely with the Vice Presidents and you will be key in leading the Student Officer Team.

What does a President do?

  • Improve the student experience
  • Attend King’s College London’s Council as a member of the Council
  • Manage the performance of the KCLSU Chief Executive
  • Chair the KCLSU Trustee Board
  • Work closely with VPs and lead the Student Officer Team

Vice President Activities & Development

As Vice President Activities & Development your main focus will be on improving the experience for all our sports clubs and activity groups at KCLSU and ensure that students have the resources to enhance their life outside of lectures.

You will work very closely with all our clubs and society committees to ensure their issues and ideas are being heard and help to develop these. You will also work in partnership with the Activities Union Development Committee and the Sports Union Development Committee.

As a Student Officer you’ll be required to attend a number of KCL and KCLSU committees which includes the KCLSU Trustee Board and its sub-committees.

What does the Vice President Activities & Development do?

  • Improve the experience for all our sports clubs and activity groups

Vice President Education (Arts & Sciences)

As Vice President Education (Arts & Sciences) your main focus will be on academic issues and representing the views and educational experience of students in the Arts & Sciences faculties to the University to improve the learning and teaching experience. Only students from the faculties of Arts & Humanities, Law, NMS, KBS or SSPP can stand for this role.

You will attend a lot of KCLSU and University committees including the KCL Academic Board Committee where you will put forward the views and opinions of your fellow Arts & Sciences students. You will also work closely with our other KCLSU Community Leads including Academic Associations and Academic Reps.

What does the Vice President Education (Arts & Sciences) VP do?

  • Represent the views and educational experience of students in the Arts & Sciences faculties
  • Attend a lot of KCLSU and University committees including the KCL Academic Board Committee
  • Work closely with our other KCLSU Community Leads including Academic Associations and Academic Reps

Vice President Education (Health)

As Vice President Education (Health) your main focus will be on academic issues and representing the views and educational experience of students in the Health faculties to the University to improve the learning and teaching experience.

You will attend a lot of KCLSU and University committees including the KCL Academic Board Committee where you will put forward the views and opinions of your fellow Health students. You will also work closely with our other KCLSU Community Leads including Academic Associations and Academic Reps.

Only students from the faculties of Dentistry, Life Sciences & Medicine, IoPPN or Nursing & Midwifery can stand for this role.

What does the Vice President Education (Health) do?

  • Attend a lot of KCLSU and University committees including the KCL Academic Board Committee
  • Put forward the views and opinions of your fellow Health students
  • Improve the learning and teaching experience

Vice President Postgraduate

As Vice President Postgraduate, you will be the lead Officer in all things related to the Postgraduate experience, including the development of postgraduate student activities, societies and clubs, the educational experience of postgraduate students, and the development of postgraduate student wellbeing and under-represented student communities.

You will work closely with the other Vice Presidents in ensuring that postgrad voices are heard and considered in all that we do at KCLSU. As a Student Officer you’ll be required to attend a number of KCL and KCLSU committees which includes the KCLSU Trustee Board and its sub-committees.

Only postgraduate students can stand for this role.

What does the Vice President for Postgraduate do?

  • Lead Officer for the development of postgraduate student life
  • Work closely with the other Vice Presidents in ensuring that postgrad voices are heard
  • Attend a number of KCL and KCLSU committees which includes the KCLSU Trustee Board

Spring Elections need to know

Vice President, Welfare & Community

As Vice President Welfare & Community you will be the lead Officer in all equality, diversity, and liberation campaigns and issues and work on the development of student wellbeing and under-represented communities.

You will work with a number of KCLSU Community Leads and groups including the Liberation Networks and Network Chairs. You will also work in partnership with the Liberation & Inclusion Union Development Committee and Wellbeing Union Development Committee.

As a Student Officer you’ll be required to attend a number of KCL and KCLSU committees which includes the KCLSU Trustee Board and its sub-committees.

What does a Welfare & Community VP do?

  • Lead Officer for the development of student wellbeing and under-represented student communities
  • Work on the development of student wellbeing and lead in all equality, diversity, and liberation campaigns
  • Attend a number of KCL and KCLSU committees which includes the KCLSU Trustee Board
