KCLSU values King’s community wellbeing. This is why from May 4th to May 21st Take Time In is here to boost your wellbeing and make you thrive with events, activities and resources online. Take care of yourself and make the most of the benefits of being part of King’s while living mainly indoors in these particular times.

Take Time In focuses on the King’s way to wellbeing based on the NHS steps to mental wellbeing:

  • Keep moving
  • Invest in relationships
  • Never stop learning
  • Give to others
  • Savour the moment

There are loads of events, activities, ideas and resources on offer to help with your wellbeing and here is a selection of events made just for you!

 

  • Seated Stretch Energiser with King’s Sport

Feeling a bit of pain in your lower back from spending a long time in front of your computer? You're in need of a simple stretch session to reduce the strain on your postural muscles. Join the Kings Sport coach who will spend about 15 minutes taking you through some basic stretches for you to practice from the luxury of your own home to reduce tension and pain.

  • Crafternoons: Sewing Bee with King's Chaplaincy?

Come along with your knitting, sewing, crochet or anything with a needle!  Meet some fellow crafters and use the other side of your brain for an hour.

  • Campus Conversations Cafe - Drop In?

In need of a study break? Put the kettle on and come along to the Campus Conversations Café to meet and chat with fellow students and staff to unlock the power of conversation. Drop in at any point between 1pm – 3pm.

  • Mindful Colouring with The Strand Magazine

This is a one-hour session hosted by Strand Magazine for mindful colouring and creative connection. Before the event, students have the opportunity to download and print some 'spring' designs, e.g. the cover of the new spring issue, as well as some doodles created specially by the design team. The session will be a relaxed safe space for ALL students, whether they consider themselves creative or not, to reconnect with mindful colouring, and recognise how it is a great way to relieve feelings of stress or digital overstimulation.

  • Declutter You Mind Marie Kondo Style: A KCL Book Club Guided Journalling Session?

KCL Book Club presents its first guided journalling session open to all! They will provide several journaling prompts and background music. Their aim with this initiative is to provide a moment of relaxation and reflection during the busy exam season. Journaling is a great way of supporting student wellbeing and hopefully, everyone will leave the session recharged and encouraged to face the examinations with lots of energy and enthusiasm!

  • Take Time for Yoga with KCL Yoga and Pilates

?Lovely beginners/intermediate yoga class designed to destress and help make you feel wonderful. Join them to learn some basics and discover how yoga can help to relax and calm you more than anything else!
