KCLSU is delighted to announce that Aless Gibson will be joining the Board of Trustees in the essential role of Vice President for Education (Health) for 2020/21. Aless will join the five other Officers-elect for their ongoing training and induction, ready for the new term of office starting on 1st August 2020. Aless has completed two years of study for her Medicine MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) degree.
The KCLSU Trustees agreed that the VP Health role was essential to fill, especially during the ongoing pandemic. Aless was the runner up in the Spring 2020 Election for this role and therefore has been through the Union’s democratic process of nomination and election. After the original candidate pulled out for personal reasons, in line with Charity Commission guidance as well as following democratic principles, the Board went through a process of nominating Aless for the role. This was ratified by a vote of the Lay Trustees in line with the bye-laws.
