Zahra Syed, President:

I am pleased to say that I am your elected President and it is a real joy to be able to represent your student voice!  During my time at KCL and KCLSU studying Religion, Politics, and Society, I have been….

  • A student representative
  • A student ambassador
  • On the A&H BLM research fund panel
  • Co-President - Intersectional Feminist Society (IFemSoc)

My two main commitments to you are to improve student mental health and tackle harassment.

Firstly, I would like to congratulate all freshers for joining King’s College London. It’s your time to shine!

Times have been hard for us lately, but it shouldn’t stop you from exploring the brighter future ahead of you. We have got exciting events planned for all students throughout the year.

If you ever need a friend to talk to, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Hamza Lone, VP Education (Arts & Sciences):

During my three years at KCL, I graduated from my law degree and was involved with various cultural, careers, and charitable societies.

During my time at SU, I want to work for the students and bring about the change that you guys want to see! Particularly, I want to focus on improving exam support for students and raising awareness on the Careers Services.

I genuinely want to work closely with all of you and hear out any change you all want to see. Feel free to get in contact and I’d be happy to have a chat anytime!

Fatimah Patel, VP Education (Health):

Welcome to KCL and KCLSU!

A little bit about me: I initially started my journey at King’s by studying Biomedical Science, however, I switched to Pharmacology in my second year as I ended up enjoying this topic more than anything else! Outside of the classroom, I used to be a Student Representative and a Peer Assisted Learning volunteer. I have now graduated and will be taking on this role at KCLSU for the year.

My main responsibility is to ensure students studying health-related degrees can make the most out of their time at King’s by solving your queries and voicing your concerns to the university, where we will work together to improve the overall student experience. I will also be taking on my own projects, such as improving student representation and working with the university towards a more diverse curriculum.

Rebecca Seling, VP Postgrad:

Hello! Guten Tag! ¡Hola! ??!

As you can probably gather from the greeting, I’m an international student. Originally, I’m from Germany, but have lived on three continents in total (hence the colourful introduction!).

I studied a Masters of Law at King’s the last year and chose to run for the position because I wanted to make King’s live up to its ‘world-leading’ reputation.

This upcoming year I will focus on Postgraduate engagement with the university and the students union to create a community in which students feel they belong and work on Postgraduate funding issues including tuition fees, and increasing PGR funding.

Daniyal Ubaidullah, VP Welfare and Community:

Hello Freshers! Welcome to the KCL family.

I firmly believe that a university is not just a space for passive classroom teaching and learning, but a site to experiment with struggles for social justice and human rights.

I will work with all of you to generate conversations and action on how best we can get there as a university so that you receive an education that is world-class and also a university experience that is well-rounded in the true sense of the word.
