Hey everyone! I’m Niall, this year’s Vice President for Activities and Development. I’ve just finished the final year of my Physiotherapy degree and after my year at KCL will be getting a job as a junior physio. During my degree I was involved in quite a few sports and societies, mainly KCL Muay Thai where I was President for two years. My experience with student groups really highlighted to me how important the support networks these groups (often unknowingly) provide and made me want to support and improve this experience for future students at King’s.

My main goals for this year involve supporting student wellbeing within student groups. As I’ve said, I know from personal experience how important the support sports clubs and societies can offer and I really credit my involvement in activity groups with helping me settle into life at university through first year. I’m going to use my role to help support the wellbeing leads and officers that are taking up their roles this year, and push to develop and integrate this position within all student groups.

I’m also going to be working on improving funding for activity groups, both by helping the committees in charge of all our student groups understand what money their group will be getting and why they’re receiving it and by working to create an accessibility fund to allow student groups to purchase equipment that allows differently abled members of our community to access their sport or activity.

I’m very much looking forward to working with all of you over the next year, if you want to stay up to date with everything I’m working on follow my officer twitter @kclsu_vpad, if you want to get to know the officers and what we get up to follow @kclsuofficers on Instagram, and if you need to get in touch feel free to email me on [email protected].
