My name is Christal and I am the Vice-President of KingsTV.
As vice-president, I mainly help conceptualize the different videos we plan for the year. This can including coming up with ideas, bookings spaces or speakers, among other tasks. I also write for our blog, plan events, manage our social media and write our newsletter. As KingsTV is a small society, I have multiple roles and tasks, we all help each other out to best support the society, and this is one of my favourite things about the society. Even if I am not the most knowledgeable about videography, I can still help the team by giving guidance or directing them to people who could help them realize their vision.
What I also love about my society, apart from the equipment and network, is its tolerance. There is no need to be a stellar filmmaker or have elaborate ideas, I can be myself and explore my ideas, regardless of experience.
Another aspect of KingsTV that I love, amongst many others, is the fact that I can combine my passion for media with my care for world issues. The complete freedom I am given allows me to film about anything, literally. It can be political and give a voice to those who tend to be voiceless or it can simply be fun or aesthetically pleasing.
So come and not take a look at the Media Suite during the Open Day between 10am and 4pm on 24 September to meet us, and get to know how you can get involved in our exciting projects!
