Your Representative

Asalaamualaykum Everyone. My name's Hasnain, and I am your Vice President for Health this year. I am super excited to work with as many of you as possible, ensuring the student experience you receive during your time at King's is as empowering and fulfilling as possible!

While studying for my BSc in Global Health and Social Medicine with a focus on Neuroscience, I learned about many of the concerns and issues that King's students face. I learned about these challenges through both my course and my broader involvement with various societies across the University, such as the Indo-Pak Development Forum and TEDxKing's College London, as well as through my activism on campus for student freedoms and combating student repression.

I am Muslim, and I enjoy learning about faith and experiences from all walks of life. I will make myself available to discuss any concerns/issues you have. My aim is to ensure your voices are heard and that tangible, feasible action is taken to address any problems you face.

For any further updates regarding myself, my fellow officers, and our work, or for any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact me on hasnain.jafer@kclsu.org, and check out our VERY OWN Officer's Instagram page (@kclsuofficers), to get a real insight into what we do and how we work with you, to help make your time at King's the best it can be!

My Goals

Supporting the Campaign for a Campus Shuttle Bus

Furthering the Campus Shuttle Bus Campaign through my work on establishing and promoting a wider health collective across all campuses (particularly Denmark Hill, Guy's and St. Thomas').

Health 4 All Event Series

Holding the very first Health 4 All Event Series at KCLSU (and KCL!), drawing upon and showcasing varying expertise surrounding all things health, and highlighting how health is more than a medical matter, helping to share, create and improve real-world learning opportunities, such as partnership excursions/shadowing/work experience/research opportunities for all students who wish to explore the interdisciplinary nature of Health at King's.

Ensuring Freedom of Expression and Tackling Student Repression

This goal will help equip students (both new and existing) to become well-versed in how to make the most of their time at King's and be able to stand for and discuss causes and issues that they are passionate about.
