Your Representative
Hi everyone, I'm Maryam Jamil, and I'm delighted to be your new Vice President for Education (Arts & Sciences). As one of your representatives and Academic Officer, I am committed to making King's a place where students like you feel supported and empowered.
I started at King's in 2022, studying Religion, Politics and Society. I have recently graduated and benefited greatly from the opportunities King's has to offer.
Outside of university life, I have a love for cooking and hosting, as well as a great interest in Philosophy. Advancing student voice and enhancing the student experience are some of the reasons why I decided to run for this role. I want students to feel they are well-equipped to succeed in their studies and enjoy their experience here at King's.
I really look forward to representing all of you in the year ahead!
My Goals
Increasing Elective Module Options
Increasing Module availability is vital to me because it is crucial to students. King's students would benefit significantly from increased access to resources during their studies.
Timely, fair and detailed feedback
Students want better quality assessment feedback. During my time in post, I will be advocating for King's to provide clear, constructive feedback that supports students in their academic growth.
Making it easier to find study spaces
Lastly, I'm keen to make it easier to find study spaces within the maze campus spaces across King's. I plan to collaborate with King's to develop a robust system that informs students about available study spots in libraries and other designated areas. A system like this would be extremely beneficial in boosting student productivity on campus.
