In addition to the academic help and advice provided to TEDI-London students by KCLSU, there is also a range of non-academic support services available to you from TEDI-London. For more information on any of the services provided, please contact [email protected] in the first instance.

 

Accommodation

Although TEDI-London do not have their own halls of residence, the Student Hub team can help you with accommodation needs or issues.

They can:

  • provide information on local accommodation available.
  • support you with your transition into living away from home.
  • support you with any issues relating to your accommodation that may arise.
  • signpost you to other services as appropriate.

 

Chaplaincy and Faith

TEDI-London have access to representatives for many faiths locally to the TEDI-London campus; details can be obtained via the Student Hub.

There is also an inter-faith room for prayers or quiet contemplation on our campus which can be booked through the Student Hub.

As a TEDI-London student, you have access to the King’s College London Chaplaincy.

 

Counselling and Mental Health Support

Being at university can be an exciting and happy time, but it can also be stressful and challenging. There may be a range of issues that affect your life and studies whilst at TEDI-London or back at home. We appreciate that you might suffer with personal, emotional, and psychological problems that affect your ability to study.

TEDI-London have a focus on wellbeing and have regular activities that will help you to have a positive experience. TEDI-London have a process for determining the best support for each situation. In the first instance, you should contact the Student Hub to ask for a referral to our triage services.

The Student Hub team work with professional counsellors and other mental health practitioners who have allocated time for TEDI-London. You can also refer you to services outside TEDI-London if appropriate.

Careers and Employability

TEDI-London offer additional employability support throughout your studies, and for up to two years after you graduate. You will have sessions throughout the year with employability and industry specialists.

There is also help for you in your search in finding and applying for part-time and seasonal jobs, graduate jobs and further study, as you develop those transferable employability skills.

The TEDI-London model of partnerships with industry means that you will have contact with industry engineers throughout your programme; they will be able to help prepare you to be competitive in the job market and may be able to offer you additional work experience, internships or a role with their organisations.

 

Disability and Learning Difference Support 

When you declare a specific disability or learning difference to TEDI-London, they we will contact you directly to organise any necessary assistance and can help you with submitting requests for support from other organisations, for example the Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA). 

TEDI-London also offer one-to-one support as required to meet reasonable adjustments. 

Study Skills Sessions will also be available termly to all students and delivered by academics.
