Welcome to the KCL Chess Society page! We are a group of chess enthusiasts spanning a huge range of abilities, so whether you're an outright beginner or a dedicated player, you'll be sure to find a chess home here at KCLCS :)

We hold weekly sessions, interspersed with fun within-society tournaments, and chess league matches against other universities and clubs across London.

Whilst not everything is about competition: With over the board teams at a range of abilities in the London Chess League and the BUCA Championship, or online leagues competing against clubs and universities across the world, we have plenty of competitive opportunities.

But if you prefer more relaxed competition, we also have in-club monthly tournaments with prizes for every level.

There's never any pressure at KCLCS - those who wish to play recreationally are equally as welcome and invited to join as those who wish to play more seriously.
