The Streetlaw Society is a pro bono society at King's College London, promoting legal literacy to focus groups through tailored workshops and presentations. We give students the opportunity to participate in projects that educate members of the local community about the law. Volunteers work in groups to actively provide residents and students who would not otherwise have access to legal knowledge with a basic overview of the law. You will give presentations to many different target groups around London, e.g. housing associations, youth groups, and secondary schools/sixth-form colleges. Both law and non-law students are recruited and involved in our projects in order to strike the right balance between rigour/analytical skills and interdisciplinary/original interpretation. Research, teamwork, productivity and zeal to help the community at large are at the core of KCL Streetlaw's commitment and vision.
We also work in collaboration with the King's Legal Clinic from the Dickson Poon School of Law.
