These are the five principles that form a collective vision to shape King’s long-term engagement with AI:
- Integrity: Meaningful education should encourage students to engage in deep learning, critical reflection, and skills development.
- Adaptability: In a rapidly developing technological landscape, teaching methods, assessments, and policies must evolve to remain relevant, effective and equitable.
- Clarity: Unambiguous, accessible, and uniformly applied policies are essential to reduce anxiety, build a shared culture of trust, and incentivise meaningful learning.
- Ethics: The adoption of AI must be guided by a commitment to fairness, privacy, intellectual property, sustainability, and the mitigation of social and algorithmic bias.
- Collaboration: Meaningful student-staff partnership will enable the implementation of the above principles and underpin an ethical, effective and resilient institutional approach to the integration of AI.
