Fix Report + Support

Fix Report + Support

Mission Statement

A campaign to improve the reporting and supporting systems at King's to ensure it meets the needs of all students that experience gender-based violence (including sexual violence and misconduct); providing users with adequate support at every stage -- from initial reporting to long-term recovery.

I want go be involved with the campaign, what can I do?

Come to one of our next workshop to chat with other passionate students and meet the campaign team.

Campaign asks...

  1. To win a review of 'Report + Support' at King's in a partnership between KCLSU, King's and students with lived experience of gender-based violence by the end of 2025/26.
  2. For King's College London to publish an Annual Report on 'Report + Support' to include anonymised data to better understand trends, informing prevention and response efforts, as well as building trust and transparency of the service for users and potential users.
  3. For King's to provide and promote community-specific resources for under-represented student communities (in particular for LGBTQ+ and Postgraduate students) in order to address barriers to accessing reporting and supporting systems.

This campaign was proposed and is led by your student officers...

  • Dulcie Wainwright-Pilton - VP (Activities & Development)

  • Fatima Hire - VP (Welfare & Community)

Campaign wins (so far!)...

The campaign team has been hard at work this year, and we’re pleased to share some of the fantastic achievements so far!

Win 1

  • Campaign Goal: To win a review of 'Report + Support' at King's in a partnership between KCLSU, King's and students with lived experience of gender-based violence by the end of 2025/26.
  • Progress: Complete! Task + Finish group with King's set up for January 2026 co-chaired by Student Officers, Dulcie & Fatima.

Win 2

  • Campaign Goal: For King's College London to publish an Annual Report on 'Report + Support' to include anonymised data to better understand trends, informing prevention and response efforts, as well as building trust and transparency of the service for users and potential users.
  • Progress: In Progress! King's colleagues are writing a paper to propose this - they are happy for KCLSU officers to co-sign to push for an annual report on Report + Support.

 Win 3

  • SMART Goal: For King's to provide and promote community-specific resources for under-represented student communities (in particular for LGBTQ+ students) in order to address barriers to accessing reporting and supporting systems
  • Progress: King's is already working on this, particularly for Chinese speaking students and PGR students who have low engagement with the service. KCLSU officers will work with LGBTQ+ Network in the new year to ensure these students have the resources and support they need from the service.

  KCLSU Internal Work

  • Goal: Review Community Leader's training; taking a harm reduction approach to gender-based violence through consent and active bystander principles.
  • Progress: KCLSU Training Manager, Emma Sewell, has been working on reviewing our CLT programme with Dulcie to include consent/active bystander principles for the next cycle of training. They have been working with colleagues at King's and in the Student Groups teams in KCLSU to make this training as impactful as possible.
