KCLSU Student Centres

Overview

It's now Back to School Week (BtSW)! During the week, all students are encouraged to pledge to go back and find out how to get involved at their old school or college.

But this year, don't only go back but give back. The theme of BtSW this year is primary literacy, because an estimated 1 in 5 children leave primary school with poor literacy levels. To try and help change this, take part in the Children's Book Drive!

From today until Friday 16 October, we'll be collecting children’s books that are suitable for a variety of ages from 0-16 to donate to Southwark libraries and Beecroft Garden Primary school in Lewisham.

The libraries and Beecroft Primary are in real need of more resources, especially children’s books. Any donations over the next week would be hugely appreciated, so this week is the perfect opportunity to dust off and rearrange your bookcases for a good cause!

The collection point will be at KCLSU student centres, which are open from 10am-6pm Monday – Friday, further details below:

  • Guy’s Student Centre is located on the ground floor of Boland House.
  • Waterloo Student Centre is located on the first floor of FWB.
  • Strand Student Centre is located on the ground floor, Macadam Building.
