Event Description

Friday 22 September 2023

10am - 5pm

1 Old Billingsgate Walk

Overview

Important information for the event

At the Fair on Thursday 21st September, we unfortunately had to turn people away who arrived too close to the cut off point of the am and pm slots. This is because we operate a one-in one-out system. Our cut off points for entry may be earlier than advertised if we reach capacity.

Registering your interest on the King's App is not a ticket registration, please ensure you have a valid ticket.

We recommend:

  • You arrive at the beginning of your time slot
  • Respect your time slot, it will be strictly AM OR PM entry
  • You have your ticket ready when you’re in the queue (if it’s a screenshot, make sure it is showing your name)
  • You dress for all weathers (it was both sunny and heavy rain today)

Fair is proving incredibly popular, so wait times may be longer than you anticipate.

Please listen to any staff advice on the day and follow our direction, we are trying to ensure as many people as possible can enjoy the Welcome Fair.

New to King's? Welcome fair is the place to be!

Our fair is an opportunity for you to know everything about your student union: the societies and clubs you can join, the services we offer, our campaigning and volunteering opportunities - check out the list of Day 2 Student Stalls here.

You can also find competitions and student discounts from our best partners - Gotoco, The Passage, Temple Brew House, London Business School, National Liberal Club, Pastest, Unifitures, Choose a Challenge, Unigister, The Bridge, Koru Kids Flyering, Global Justice, YouGov, University of London Officers' Training Corps, The Font, Shine Mentoring, KCL Blockchain, University Service Unit, TVC Vintage, Lowercase Events, Kortext, and of course our very own Union Shop will be there.

Last but not least, you can also meet your new Student Officer team and get involved in some exciting activity spaces!

The event is free but to secure your slot, you need to sign up and show us your confirmation email on arrival.

Welcome Fair is only open to current King’s Students. However, we recognize that for many students Welcome Fair can be an intimidating or overwhelming event to attend on your own. To combat this, we are introducing Guided Meetups run by current King’s students with similar lived experience as you. These meetups are designed to help you to meet new people and become part of the King’s community. At the start of the meetup your Peer Guide will run a quick game to help everyone get to know each other, before your group heads into the venue. We have created 7 different meetups for students with similar lived experiences:

  • SOLD OUT Meetup General (open to all students): 10:45-12:45 or 14:45-16:45, The Shed - Guy's Campus
  • SOLD OUT Meetup International Students: 10:45-12:45 or 14:45-16:45, The Shed - Guy's Campus
  • SOLD OUT Meetup Mature Students: 14:00-16:00, The Shed - Guy's Campus
  • SOLD OUT Meetup Disabled Students: 14:15-16:15, Old Billingsgate - Accessible Entrance
  • SOLD OUT Meetup Black Students: 10:00-12:00, The Shed - Guy's Campus
  • SOLD OUT Meetup Postgraduate Students: 14:00-16:00, The Shed - Guy's Campus
  • SOLD OUT Meetup Distance Learners: 10:00-12:00, The Shed - Guy's Campus
  • SOLD OUT Meetup LGBT+ Students: 10:00-12:00, The Shed - Guy's Campus

Tickets for Guided Meetups will give you access also to Welcome Fair.

Regular tickets for Welcome Fair are listed as AM or PM, accordingly to the slot you choose.

We see you there, at your Welcome Fair!
