The KCL Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Society (KCLPPS) brings together students from across life science disciplines who share an interest in pharmacology, research, and the pharmaceutical industry. Our founding goal is to foster an inclusive community, support academic and professional development, and create opportunities for members to build strong connections throughout their time at King’s.
KCLPPS serves as a central space for students to engage with both the academic and professional sides of the field. We achieve this through socials, academic support, career events, and wellbeing initiatives, members build friendships, develop confidence, and gain valuable insight into opportunities within life sciences and beyond.
What we offer:
Our society delivers a varied programme of events across the year, combining community-building with academic and career development.
Careers and Networking
The society hosts guest speakers, placement and internship support sessions, industry-facing events, and networking opportunities that connect students with professionals, career pathways, and wider opportunities in the life sciences sector.
Academic Support
Members take part in bi-weekly pharmacology journal club sessions, exam preparation events, and academic workshops designed to strengthen subject knowledge and build confidence in key study skills.
Peer Mentorship
The peer mentorship scheme supports students with the transition to university, managing workload, and developing academically through structured mentor-mentee sessions, community support, and regular check-ins.
Wellbeing and Inclusion
Wellbeing and inclusion remain a core part of the society’s activity throughout the year. The society runs wellbeing initiatives, reading-week events, and activities linked to awareness and heritage months to help create a welcoming and representative environment for all members.
