Retail Team Leader

Role Summary: St Joseph’s fundraising team are looking for experienced retail volunteers to help us raise a significant amount from donated items, at our pop up shop and four-yearly community sales. There are a variety of shifts available, during the week and on Saturdays, and will include helping to display stock, provide excellent customer service and act as an ambassador for St Joseph’s Hospice on the high street and at the hospice. Key tasks:  Being the senior volunteer, supporting the wider retail volunteer team  Supporting the Community fundraising coordinator on community sale days, taking a lead role in ensuring the success of the events  Arranging rotas and communicating with volunteers to ensure shift coverage  Organising and supporting the teams who are taking on an “Apprentice style team challenge” at the shop or market stalls  Leading on selecting high-quality items for specialist sales (such as online) to ensure these items raise as much as possible for the hospice  Responsible for opening and closing the shop (or arranging for the senior retail volunteer to do so)  Responsible for collecting and returning keys, float and takings to the hospice (or arranging for the senior retail volunteer to do so)  Lead and support volunteers on sorting and pricing  Lead the team of volunteers to achieve income targets  Deal with any queries volunteers or customers may have  Provide excellent customer service  Take payments and give change to customers  Assist with merchandising and displays  Assist with keeping the shop and sale areas tidy and clean Time requirement: 1- 4 days a week Monday to Saturday 9am – 5pm. We can be flexible, and offer half day as well as full day shifts.
