LGBT+ History Month

February 2018

The month of February sees us celebrate the lives of LGBT+ people today and throughout history.

Join us for a month of celebratory events, run by both student communities and KCLSU.

Let's share our  LGBT+ History Month experiences, stories and pictures on social media throughout the week by tagging @kclsu and using the hashtag #LGBTHM18

Our LGBT+ Association

"KCLSU LGBT+ Association is a representative student community that aims to combat oppression, discrimination, and inequality faced by students on a local and national level.

"Anyone who identifies as LGBT+ or questioning is automatically a member, whether that's publicly, privately or somewhere in between. We work both within the student union and the university to promote acceptance, raise awareness, facilitate events and consult on issues. We represent you in Union Development and Diversity and Inclusion Steering meetings, and help organise and make decisions for LGBT+ History month. All committee members are elected; there are two Association Lead Officers (one trans place, one open place), a Campaigns Rep and a Welfare Rep.

"The Association provides an important way to institutionalise change within King's. As we represent such a diverse group of students, the committee really values hearing about what you believe needs changing and what we can do to help make your experience at King's the very best it can be. Campaigns work best with a strong student force behind them, and any support, opinion or comment that is given will help influence decisions made and actions taken.

"You can contact us at lgbt@kclsu.org or via the facebook page @KCLSULGBT"
