KCL Medical Genetics Society are a brand-new society for 2018/2019, brought about with the aim of supporting and inspiring medical and other healthcare students interested in the clinical application of genetics.
Genetics is becoming increasingly relevant to all aspects of medicine, from pharmacology to oncology to psychiatry, and therefore it is becoming more important for healthcare students to appreciate and understand new developments in this field. We host events such as elective and revision workshops and guest lectures from leading clinicians in the field to help enhance students’ knowledge and skills in medical genetics. We also work closely with the Guy’s and St Thomas’ Clinical Genetics Service, one of the three tertiary Clinical Genetics Services in London.
