Learn to ice skate with KCL Wolves Ice Skating Club! Whether you’ve been skating all your life or have never set foot on the ice, KCL Wolves has something for you! We have professional coaches that cater to everyone’s needs and we are open to all regardless of ability, age or gender. Through our skating lessons, you can improve your strength, flexibility and balance and learn all types of new skating skills such as jumps or spins! With a solid basic skating foundation, you could even easily continue on to pursue ice hockey or speed skating!
Classes:
We have classes running every Wednesday afternoon for three different ability levels: Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced I and Advanced II.
Our amazing coaches will place you in the class most well-suited to your ability and help you move your way up the levels!
Coaching Timetable:
13:30 - 14:00 - Beginners
14:00 - 14:30 - Intermediate
14:30 - 14:45 - ICE CLEANING
14:45 - 15:15 - Advanced I
15:15 - 15:45 - Advanced II
We advise that members arrive at least 15 minutes before the coaching starts to get the full 30-minute coaching experience. Members of the club will be allowed to remain skating and practising in the rink from the start of the session until the end of the KCL Wolves coaching (i.e. members who are in the beginner class can stay on the ice until the end of the session/members in the advanced class can be on the ice from 13:00 even though their class doesn’t start until 14:45). If you miss your coaching time, unfortunately, you cannot join the next class, unless our coaches have said you are ready for the higher level of coaching/skating, but you are still welcome to practise in the rink during our allocated time.

Members:
£8 rink entry fee + £3 skate hire (if you bring your own skates, you will only be required to pay the standard entrance rink fee).
Coaching is covered by the club if you buy our membership!
Non-Members:
The coaching fee for non-members is £8 per session + the above standard rink entry fee (+ skate hire fee if you require it).
Please note: you have to show proof of student ID (i.e. your King's student card) in order to receive discounted student entry to the rink.
You can also receive this discounted entry to the rink any weekday until 4pm if you show your student card!
Socials:
Outside of training, we also have many exciting socials and events! In previous years, we’ve had all sorts of socials including picnics, Christmas parties, clubbing socials and trips to our very Somerset House Ice Rink, Battersea Power Station and Winter Wonderland! We also have a friendly competition with other universities and perform at Varsity every year! KCL Wolves is a fantastic way to keep fit, have fun, and make friends. So come join us, meet new people and broaden your university experience!
Members also get discounted tickets to socials however there are tickets available for non-members too! However, we do advise to purchase our membership for the best value.
