The week long series events included talks on the BME attainment gap, curricula, and academic staff, along with creative events to such as crafts workshops and performance nights in order to inspire and bring the community together.
In 2017/18, the Vice President of Education (Arts & Sciences) successfully held the Liberate Our Education workshop. It discussed different means of diversification and how best to internationalise the curriculum, with academics, lecturers, students and GTAs (Graduate Teaching Assistants) in attendance. The ideas discussed within the workshop will be used to shape college policy on inclusive education, as promised by the 2020 Education Strategy, and the workshop itself will hopefully act as a pilot for future initiatives aimed at enriching the syllabus.
