Who we are

A community space for students currently studying medicine as a graduate, or anyone with an interest in doing so. Anyone can become a doctor, and there is no single "right" type of person when it comes to studying medicine. As such, students from all backgrounds are welcomed, making our society a fully inclusive space where medics and non-medics can socialise together.

What we do

Socials

Throughout the year we run a series of organised socials, and also less formal gatherings around other society events. These will include pizza nights, film nights, games nights, halloween/christmas parties, and general hangouts, to name just a few examples.

High Yield Medicine

Our academic team provide the best possible antidote to GKT's teaching (or lack thereof ??) with our legendary High Yield series. This is predominantly aimed at current medical students, to help adequately cover content relevant to progress tests through the academic year. As a society, we shall also run (non-invasive) clinical skills sessions throughout the year, largely run by senior medical students, to help others gain confidence and practical ability, or to act as a cursory insight into the world of clinical practice for society members not currently studying medicine.

Widening Participation

Aside from our academic programme, we also run a Get Into Medicine programme, specifically focusing on routes into medicine as a graduate, and the core elements and timelines of the application route(s), led by a team of students who've successfully navigated the processes and can help set you up to do so too.
