Overview

KCLSU in partnership with Just Like Us charity invites you to this virtual workshop marking LGBT+ History Month. Just Like Us are the LGBT+ charity for young people, advocating for inclusive education. Their ambassadors deliver stories about growing up LGBT+ in UK schools to provide vital representation to LGBT+ youth and to educate their straight and cisgender allies.

In this interactive lunchtime workshop we'll discuss the power of telling our stories as LGBT+ people. How does this inspire, validate and empower others? And ultimately how does this make for a brighter world for LGBT+ young people in schools?

In this workshop you'll...

  • Hear stories from Just Like Us ambassadors about growing up LGBT+.
  • Begin crafting your own autobiographical stories to inspire LGBT+ young people using helpful tips and exercises.
  • For LGBT+ students at King's, find out how you can get involved with Just Like Us through volunteering and fundraising throughout lockdown and beyond.

This workshop is open to all, but only LGBT+ students are able to sign up to volunteer through Just Like Us charity.
