Overview

Interested in making a difference in your local community? Volunteering is a great way to gain skills, meet new people and do something great for a cause you care about.

Connect with Charities is a series of online workshops that will give you the chance to hear from a range of organisations and learn about what they do as well as how you can volunteer your time.  There are hundreds of volunteering opportunities across London and each workshop will focus on a different theme, helping you understand more about the different sectors. This event is all about Sustainability and Conservation Volunteering, with opportunities to go into schools and inspire the next generation.

During the workshop, you’ll hear from each different charity having the opportunity to ask any questions you might have.

  • KCL Sustainability Team
Interested in sustainability, gaining accredited environmental training and potential freebies for your time? Get involved with King's Sustainability in a variety of ways! With opportunities for IEMA accredited training amongst other training opportunities, volunteering with King’s is a great way to boost your CV.

  • The Felix Project
1.5 million adults in London struggle to afford to eat every day, 400,000 children are at risk of missing the next meal. Meanwhile, our food industry generates almost 2 million tonnes of good, edible surplus food each year. The Felix Project is a London-based food redistribution waste charity set up in 2016 to tackle both issues.

  • Coin Street
We are a social enterprise working in Waterloo and North Southwark, London. From a derelict site in 1984 we have created a thriving, diverse, vibrant and welcoming place for people to live, work and play. If you’re looking to volunteer in London’s green spaces, Coin Street’s garden is local to King’s, and are looking for volunteering for a wide range of activities as well as their gardening volunteers.

To secure your virtual seat, simply register by buying a free ticket. You will receive an email with the instructions on how to join. The charities and KCLSU are looking forward to seeing you there!
