Overview

Interested in making a difference in your local community? Volunteering is a great way to gain skills, meet new people and do something great for a cause you care about.

Connect with Charities is a series of online workshops that will give you the chance to hear from a range of organisations and learn about what they do as well as how you can volunteer your time. There are hundreds of volunteering opportunities across London and each workshop will focus on a different theme, helping you understand more about the different sectors.

This event is all about Aged Care and Health Volunteering and will be looking at volunteer roles that could make a real difference to the lives of others. Whether you are interested in working in Health and social care, or you’re looking for a truly rewarding volunteering opportunity, there will be something here for you.

During the workshop, you’ll hear from each different charity having the opportunity to ask any questions you might have.

  • The British Red Cross

The British Red Cross helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. They are part of a global voluntary network, responding to conflicts, natural disasters and individual emergencies. The British Red Cross help vulnerable people in the UK and abroad prepare for, withstand and recover from emergencies in their own communities. This includes supporting refugees, people returning home from hospital, first aid at events, emergency response and crisis/first aid education.

  • In-Deep

In-Deep Community Task Force is a registered charity that works mainly with elderly people in the South of Westminster and Lambeth, London - offering friendship by way of a range of activities and services to people living in the area, as many have no family, or family that live far away, and are on low incomes.

  • Time and Talents

129 years young this year, Time & Talents is a thriving hub of community activity and innovation in a unique part of South London. They provide support for some of the most vulnerable people in our community, alongside an imaginative programme of wider activities and events for all, designed to bring everyone together. Time & Talents specialise in unusual and quirky activities, such as a visit from a mobile zoo - a thriving community gardening and growing programme, with specialised growing sessions for older and disabled people, as well as much more.

  • Age UK Lambeth

Age UK Lambeth are an independent local charity working in the community to support older people, their families and carers. They want everyone to be able to love later life all around Lambeth.
