Overview

Develop your employability and leadership skills on a local charity board, you won't need any previous experience and you can make a huge difference to a local charity.

You may never have thought about applying to be a trustee at an organisation, but this can be a great opportunity to gain experience and skills that you won't come across as a part of your studies.  It's also a stand-out line on your CV, as something a bit different that not many graduates will have!

'Getting on board' can help you to understand more about what it is to be a Trustee, how much time you would have to give, and even help you put together your application.  There are a whole host of charities who would really value the voice of a young person on their board, and you could help them to shape the direction of their organisation.

This information session will explain a bit more about what it means to be a Trustee, and what support is on offer to help you to secure your position.  Lunch will be provided and you can have a chat to see if it's the right thing for you, without having to commit straight away.
