Overview

The King's Players present 'Frankenstein', written by Mary Shelley, adapted and directed by Isaac Freeman.

Geneva, 1816. It is the year without summer, and a group of bored intellectuals sit inside while outside the rain seems never-ending. In an attempt to entertain themselves, one of them suggests that each of those present attempt to write a ghost story. What Mary Shelley wrote in response would change literature forever.

The University of Ingolstadt, 2019. Anxious but high-achieving student Victor has done something he never thought would be possible- he has created a fully functioning, self-learning Artificial Intelligence. But he quickly discovers he cannot control his new creation, and he is powerless to stop it.

In this brand new adaptation of a well-known story, we hear the tale told by Mary herself and are invited to question what we owe to each other, and what we owe to ourselves.
