Overview

King’s College London African Caribbean Medical Association (KCL ACMA) is delighted to announce our Networking & Mentoring Launch Event. At KCL ACMA we are passionate and dedicated to trying to increase the number African & Caribbean students in medicine.

According to HESA (Higher Education Statistics Agency), 3% of UK medical students were of African Caribbean Heritage in comparison to 35% of medical students from BAME backgrounds

The aim of this event is to officially launch our Doctors Network and Doctor-Student Mentorship programme. There will be talks from Dr Bernadine Idowu and medical students Ivan Beckley & James Frater. In addition to this, the BMA will also be discussing their work from the race equality summit. Finally, we want to provide as much time for networking as possible with light refreshments and music throughout the night to aid this.
