Overview

This event will consider why the attainment gap exists and what the effects are on students and institutions. We will gather insight from a researchers, students and people working to eradicate the gap. There will also be a Q&A session.

Speakers include:

Dr Akile Ahmet, a researcher on race, higher education, inequalities and families at the LSE;

Daniel Hartley, a postdoctoral research fellow at Queen Mary UOL undertaking work on engagement, retention and success; 

Sayeeda Ali, a sabbatical officer at University College London Students’ Union working on the issue of BME Attainment;

Sarah Guerra, Director of Diversity and Inclusion at King’s College London.
