Print Room @ The Coronet, 103 Notting Hill Gate, Kensington, London W11 3LB

Overview

Print Room theatre is set in Victorian playhouse The Coronet, in the heart of Notting Hill.

Remnants is a new music theatre work about one woman’s encounter with the aftermath of war crimes at Srebrenica, and her family’s connection to the Holocaust in Bosnia fifty years before. Conceived and directed by Patrick Eakin Young, the piece is based on the memoir The Stone Fields, by Courtney Angela Brkic. Performed by four singers and a dancer, it mixes Balkan folk songs with original vocal arrangements and compositions by award winning composer Christian Mason and electronic soundscapes by DJ and installation artist Shelley Parker. Juxtaposing voices from the past with deep bass electronics, this original score evokes the pain of history and the secrets that lie beneath the ground.
